# Project licenses

Original wasurf code and documentation use the [MIT License](LICENSE).
This grant excludes third-party maps, textures, models, dependencies, and reference checkouts.
Original practice courses use the same MIT License.

## Third-party components

Three.js uses the MIT License. The build preserves its notice at `vendor/three.LICENSE.txt`.
Playwright is a development dependency. It is absent from the browser release.
The `research/` checkouts keep their own terms and are absent from release packages.

## Utopia

Panzerhandschuh created surf_utopia_v3. Murloc supplied the [CS:GO distribution](https://gamebanana.com/mods/79184) as a redistributor.
This release uses that exact distribution under its published [CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license](https://gamebanana.com/mods/license/79184).
The map and its converted assets remain under that license. They do not receive the wasurf MIT grant.

The package preserves credits, source links, conversion details and the license text under `maps/utopia/`.
This first release is noncommercial. It includes no ads, payments or fundraising links.
The map comes without warranties under section 5 of the CC license.
The release record retains the published-license evidence and exact source hashes.
